Everyone is invited to a meeting from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Hawaii Community College as the Chamber presents a program on “HCC/DOE Hilo-Waiakea Area Complex-GEAR UP Partnership Grant.” Learn how you can help.

Hawaii Community College and the state Department of Education Hilo-Waiakea Area Complex are teaming up to submit a request for the Gear Up Partnership Grant.
The overall goal of the grant is to increase the college and career readiness of high school graduates so they may persist and succeed in college and the workforce,” said a Chamber spokesman. “As an integral part of the grant, they are in need of community partners to help make this initiative a success.
“Please join us to learn more about their grant objectives, activities and ways in which we can partner together to increase the academic and career success achieved by our local students.”
